Pil|lars of Hercules
Pil|lars of Hercules «PIHL uhrz»,
the two high points of land at the eastern end of the Strait of Gibraltar, one on either side of the strait. The one on the European side is the Rock of Gibraltar; the one on the African side is Jebel Musa. According to Greek legend, they were placed there by Hercules.
